Islam prohibits the use of any intoxicating substance in any form like cannabis. Such a substance can only be used as a source of medicine for the cure of some disease.

Addition: I used to smoke so I know. Who makes salah when high? Is leaving the salah haram? The disagreemet here is if it makes you Kafir or not!!!

yes they can. Muslims are no different from other religious denominations. Can Christians smoke weed?, Catholics?, Protestants, Baptists, Buddhists?, Hindus?, or for that matter Moromons or Jehovah's Witness? They can all smoke weed and be retarded if they choose to be. While most of the above mentioned denominations frown on weed use each individual is free to choose their own course in life, that is if they don't get caught.....

As far as Muslims go weed was most likely cultivated in the Middle east since ancient times and of course it was the Arabs who invented Hashish. It all depends on what kind of Muslim you are and how seriously you take your faith.

However spiritual and religious use of cannabis dates back farther than 500 BC from ancient Buddhism, Hindu, and other religions.

Cannabis' main ingredient, THC, has been proven to not only reduce your rate of head, neck, and lung cancer, but to also stimulate brain cell growth in certain regions of the brain.

Contrary to the now defunct belief that cannabis kills brain cells, there is no valid scientific evidence of this.

It is impossible to die from too much weed, you cannot overdose on it.
