∙ 14y agoPlugging in your iPod Touch doesn't unlock the iPod. To unlock the iPod Touch (that doesn't require a password), click the home button and slide the on-screen button to the right.

It's probally because your iPod touch is in shut down mode. To unlock it, you have to hold your home screen button and on/off (wake/sleep) button at the same time, by pressing them together, wait until it shows the "apple sign" then wait a few minutes than it will unlock.
