Incidentally the Swiss have a non-Christmas related holiday honoring St. Nicholas- the bishop who is the prototype of Santa Claus, called the Klausjagen ( roughly Claus-Hunt) This is a parade and characters wear outsized hats based on Bishop"s mitres. It is NOT Christmas oriented at all. Held on December 6, St. Nicholas day.
