During pregnancy there are no periods. Periods are caused by the fact that theres been no fetus made so theres no need for the inner lining, so you shed it. But since there is a fetus, there is no period.

I have also seen online that other women have gotten their periods while pregnant, but they did not say whether or not they knew that they were pregnant.

Depo Provera, a birth control injection given every 3 months generally causes periods to stop. However, if you plan on getting pregnant anytime soon (like in next couple years) i would probably look into other options.
