It's rated at 750 FPS by the manufacture (Crosman). That's like asking the mouse to watch the cheese.

Manufactures use very light pellets to test their air guns resulting in abnormal FPS reports.

Pellets are fired through a Chronograph to measure the speed of the pellet.

Are Benjamin and Crosman the same?

At one time Sheridan, Benjamin and Crosman were three different air gun companies. Benjamin bought out Sheridan but continued to make rifles under the Sheridan name. A few years later, in the 70's, Crosman bought out Benjamin but kept the name's on the Benjamin and Sheridan models. So Yes Crosman, Benjamin and Sheridan are the same company but non of the models are crossovers. Except one.. Here is an interesting fact. Benjamin makes a model 392 and 397 that look exactly like a Sheridan C9 Blue streak. The only difference is the Benjamin's are made in .22 and .177 caliber and the Sheridan is only made in .20 cal. Just the caliber is different.

It's a C series silver streak from 1972 and there is no real damage except for some small wear on the wood stock. How much is my Benjamin Sheridan .20 cal pellet gun worth?

This is possibly the most frustrating airguns to nail down as to the exact model. First of all let me explain. Sheridan was a standalone company. In 1977 Benjamin purchased Sheridan. Some guns were called Benjamin/Sheridan, in 1992 Crosman purchased Benjamin and Sheridan. They decided to call the .177 and .22 caliber rifles "Benjamin" and the .20 caliber rifle "Sheridan." But for awhile they were called "Benjamin/Sheridan." So now we have the models C, C9, CB9, C9PB, Along with Blue Streak and Silver Streak. Not to be confused with the Crosman/Benjamin "Super Streak." (Confused enough) Okay here is what I think your value is according to the Bluebook of airguns 9th edition. in very good condition it is worth between $105 to $135

How do you find model number for a Benjamin Franklin air pellet gun?

If it appears to be really old it may be on the very back of the barrel on the rear cap. Usually it's on the side of the loading chamber. Benjamin made a model called the 177 it referred to the caliber but was also the model number. For a period of time Benjamin also did not put serial numbers on their guns. Today Crosman Corp owns and produces the Benjamin and the Sheridan line of airguns.

Where can you porchase a vintage Sheridan air rifle 1972 to 1976?

I believe you are asking about a Sheridan .20 cal Silver Streak or Blue Streak. This model is still in production today. A brief history. Sheridan, Benjamin and Crosman were all separate companies at one time. In the 1990's Benjamin bought out Sheridan but continued to market the Sheridan .20mm air rifle. Benjamin made an Identical model called 932 (.22 cal) and model 937 (.177 cal). The .20 cal stayed with the Sheridan. Later Crosman bought out Benjamin, but has continued to make the Sheridan and Benjamin series. If you still want an old one then I suggest you try "Gunsamerica" online they occasionally get one, or Gunbrokers online. See the link below.

What is the value of a 1975 Sheridan Model C Silver Streak in excellent cosmetic and working condition Serial?

First of all thank you for posting a question with all the information I need to answer it. Most questions just ask "How much is my air rifle worth." without any additional information. Your sliver streak, in excellent condition is worth around $190. A bit of history: Sheridan, Benjamin and Crosman at one time were three different companies. in the 1970's Benjamin bought out Sheridan and continued to market the Sheridan name on the .20 caliber rifles and the Benjamin name on the .177 & .22 caliber rifles. Later Crosman bought out Benjamin and now makes all three lines of air rifles. In 1972 Sheridan started serial numbering their air rifles. Today Crosman has that list.
