Clothing? Well throwing away clothing isn't too bad because it is made of organic substances usually and decomposes quickly. Clothing made in factories uses a lot of fuel, though.

Clothing does decompose if it is made of a natural fiber like cotton or wool but this does produce a gas which is 20% more damaging to the environment than CO2 so it is not good to put clothing into landfill at all. Keep them or give them to charity.
