Killing capability depends on foot pounds of energy (fpe) and fps is a function of fpe along with weight (measured in grains). A .177 caliber pellet traveling at 1000fps does not have as much energy due to its smaller mass, whereas a .25 caliber pellet is larger and can be heavier.
Bottom line:
.177 @ 1000fps will "icepick" a pest, ie. punch a tiny hole through it and if it misses a vital, won't kill it.
.22 @ 1000fps good for pests (rats, squirrels, pigeons) and small game up to raccoons.
.25 @ 1000fps small game including fox, raccoon, coyote
Rodents and small game.
Yes, small game and rodents.
You mean Air Rifle. Yes this is fine. Air rifles (Not AirSoft) usually fire between 500 FPS and 1200 FPS
1000+
It's rated at 580 FPS.
any air rifle that fires a .177 pellet over 600 FPS should be sufficient
A gun's velocity needed to kill a rabbit will depend on the type of gun and ammunition used. Typically, a velocity of around 800-1000 feet per second (fps) is considered sufficient to hunt rabbits effectively. It is essential to use the appropriate type of ammunition and aim accurately to ensure a quick and humane kill.
I doubt it.
300 fps or 320
It's rated at 660 FPS
This rifle is rated for 363 feet per second (FPS). That is slow in today's world where air rifles exceed 1000 FPS. If this rifle was in EXCELLENT condition and I do mean Excellent it would be worth $50. From 1969-75 Meyer & Grammelspacher of Germany made air rifles for Winchester.
I assume that you are asking about a PCP class rifle. It will kill just about anything you can hit. But I would stay away from Elephants and Bears. A head shot is preferred.
