Did Europeans enslave Africans because they did not respect the African race, or did they lose respect for the African race because members of that race had been enslaved? I would say that both of those things happened. We will never be able to say which came first, they came simultaneously.

It is difficult to determine which came first, as both concepts have existed for centuries and are intertwined in historical and societal contexts. Prejudice likely existed in various forms before institutionalized slavery, but it is evident that slavery perpetuated and fueled prejudices based on race, ethnicity, and other factors.
