What are the ugliest things on earth?

The "ugliest" things on earth would be a matter of opinion, but these are at the top of my list for what is most ugly in the human race:

1. hate
2. discrimination
3. prejudice
4. lack of empathy
5. lack of understanding
6. violence against women
7. violence against children
8. violence against any group that is perceived to be "powerless" or who do lack power
9. hunger; that so many people awaken hungry, spend the day hungry, and go to bed hungry
10. greed

As far as the ugliest objects (things, pictures, images) on earth, for me that would include things like:

1. an unflushed toilet
2. an unwashed toilet
3. dirty, stinky laundry
4. smelly underarms
5. a pile of maggots (although maggots have a place and purpose in the world)
6. landfills / garbage dumps
7. litter on roadsides and in neighborhoods
8. trash dumped in public parks or wooded lands
9. a baby who's black and blue because his or her parents beat the infant
10. a woman with blackened eyes and broken ribs caused by the person who supposedly "loves" her

As to the most beautiful....

• two people who truly love each other
• a happy bride
• a newborn baby
• "The Eye of God" nebula image taken by the Hubble Telescope
• realizing that life is, indeed, precious
• realizing that everyone is, truly, connected to each other in some way
