First is the stigma the public has with smoking. When marketing electronic cigarettes one comes up to fierce opposition just because they "resemble" smoking tobacco, when in fact they could not be any more different. The second is the slander campaign the FDA has been putting on in addition to negative press aired and funded by big tobacco altering the consumers perception of this new and amazing product.
