some people may not take you seriously, think you're joking all the time, are up to something devious, making fun of them or not taking them seriously. You have to be careful of smiling at inappropriatetimes such as when told of some really bad news. Also some may wonder if you're stoned or strange. It could prove costly at a serious job interview or be seen as strange behavior at a funeral or other such somber sort of scene. I used to grin a lot especially when nervous and some people would become angry with me when I couldn't stop laughing at times when a more serious demeanor were called for. I once was telling a cop that my car had been stolen (it really was and I never saw it again) and I was grinning (back in the stoner days) and he thought I was lying to him; he asked me if I were aware that it is a crime to file a false police report.
