What are the disadvantages of being gay?

Here are some various opinions:

Unfortunately, it is 2013 and there are still people in this world who haven't accepted homosexuals. That is, in my opinion, the biggest disadvantage. Many states and countries still haven't legalized gay marriage so that sets gays at a huge disadvantage

• You are hated by people who don't even know you
• Some Christians "love" you but condemn you and vote against your rights
• Some extreme religious people may want to kill you
• You are at risk of physical harm from bullies
• Your family might disown you
• 28 US states will allow you to be fired from your job for being gay
• 76 countries will imprison you or put you to death

• Some Christians hate you (even though they say they "love" you)
• Some Muslims want to kill you
• Everyone thinks that the only thing in your mind is sex
• People think your relationships aren't real or won't last
• You can get fired for being gay in 28 states
• You an be imprisoned or executed for being gay in more than 70 countries
• your family sometimes rejects you
• gay men are banned from donating blood, even if they're healthy, unless they're celibate for a year, even if they're married.
• and other things...

In fact, with all the disadvantages, it's a wonder that there are people out there that think it's a choice to be gay.

The same exact thing holds true about being transgendered or intersexed.

At the same time, I don't think it has anything to do with your parents, what if you come from a regular and stable family, there are many who still realize they feel attractive to the same sex.
