An alpha male is often a group leader. Betas are followers who tend to have "craft skills". Omegas are the total losers. Gammas are a positive combination of alpha and beta. There are two paths to gamma. Either an alpha male will "grow up" or a beta male will "man up".
In the area of sports, alphas tend to be focus on team sports where they can be "team captains", where gammas tend to excel at solitary sports -- martial artists, sword arts, shooting sports.
Both alphas and gammas can have a "bad boy" persona, but it may be sublimated.
