A chapel is different from a church though the purpose is the same.Church is a place where the christians worship and Gurdwara is a place for worship. Worship in Gurdwaras has a wonderful pattern. The worshipers wash their hands and feet and then go to worship.No one wears footwear. In a church it is different , they just walk in with footwear, bow and worship. In both the places the idea is the same, WORSHIP.
