The advantages would be you can't get pregnant, the bleeding during your period will be far less, and if you have irregular periods, the Birth Control pill will take care of that.

Some diasadvantages would be that if you are taking an oral contraceptive that you have to take it every day, don't skip any and there might be side effects such as headaches, nausea, mood swings...(but if you're using the right one for you, there shouldn't be any side effects)

The good effects of the pill are usually lighter periods, regulation of your periods, less greasy/oily skin and acne, less period pains, prevention of ovary cysts.

The bad effects are alopecia, deep vein thrombosis (all on long term use but very VERY rare), pregnancy symptoms, hot flushes etc.
