iron
Simple. With a magnet. The iron dust will simply be attracted to the magnet. To collect the iron dust neatly, get a plastic sandwich bag or a small plastic baggie, put the magnet inside, use it to collect the iron dust, then turn the bag inside-out and remove the magnet.
It is difficult to say without knowing which metal (aluminum, gold, iron, lead, etc) but if we were to compare polyesterene and iron, iron conducts heat about 1000 times better than polyestyrene. In general, the plastic would be a better insulator.
plastic is non corrosive therefor creates a barrier between the iron and moisture/salt/oxygen, all of which would corrode iron or steel to form iron oxide (rust)

they both rust and are good conducter of electricity
They Both have a different atomic structure than one another. Iron gets rusted, Iron oxide is the rust. Aluminum is more flexable then iron.
There are many very big differences between iron and tin. These two metals have very different bonding abilities for example.
see black tempering and white tempering of white cast iron.
Yes iron is very much heavier then plastic.
Magnet attract things made of iron nickel steel
Iron is silver while sulfur is yellow, Iron is magnetic while sulfur is not, and Iron looks like dirt and sulfur looks like yellow powdered sugar
(i)- Potassium Acquires The Utmost Position In The Reactivity Series Whereas Iron Lags Behind. (ii)- Iron Is a Transition Metal, Whereas Potassium Is An Alkali Metal.
