"Gay Tendencies" are a derogatory way of describing those things that may make it more likely for someone to be labeled as "Gay". Such observations are very subjective, and are likely to be cruel in nature. Being mostly based on physical or behavioral markers derived from what is considered stereotypical for gay people, they are notoriously unreliable in determining whether or not a person is actually Gay or not.

∙ 6y agoThis is an outdated term that evolved from the older term "homosexual tendencies" to describe same-sex attractions before the concept of sexual orientation was fully understood. The term ceased to be common after the early 1990s.
Prior to the 1990s, many people believed there was a difference between homosexuality and "having tendencies" which were occasional homosexual feelings. They often believed these tendencies were treatable.
