There are many top songs through houses of families at Christmas time. The top songs range from The Chipmunks to The Beach Boys. The top starting from number one "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby, "The Chipmunk Song" by The Chipmunks, and "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" Gene Autry.
Mr. Autry recorded a number of Christmas songs. the best known is his version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. On some Christmas charts, this places #2 right behind White Christmas. I think the highest ranking religious Christmas song is around #l0 on the list. a sorry commentary on Clausism.
GENE AUTRY 45 SINGLE, RUDOLPH,THE RED NOSED REINDEER / IF IT DOESN,T SNOW ON
Gene Autry's recording of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeeris second to Bing Crosby's White Christmas in sales of all Christmas songs. Roy Rogers had turned down the opportunity to record it and Gene did not want to, but his wife convinced him. It was recorded in one take in the final 10 minutes of a recording session and released as the 'B' side of If it Doesn't Snow on Christmas, which he was sure would be a hit. The 45 sold two million copies in 1949.
