In tight pack or loose pack. Tight pack is where the slaves where layed on their side, and loose pack is where the slaves where layed on their back. The tight pack allowed more slaves to be on the ship but this caused more slaves to die as they were closer together and suffocated more.

It depends on if people were loose-packed or tight-packed, if you were loose packed you could fit less people on board and decrease illness but get less money because you have less slaves, and tight-packed is when you squeeze as many people as you can on but it increases chances of diseases and illnesses, so really it depends
Most slave ships were packed so tight that the slaves barely had any room to breathe! Others, were loosely packed and the slaves got their own room. Either way, both living quarters would smell really bad, since the slaves had no personal hygiene whatsoever. Also, slaves quarters did NOT have any bathrooms so they had to go in their room. (Which is disgusting)
they were treated horribly. they were shackled on capture. they were whipped like they were not human packed together in tight spaces. they were fed horribly were also put in a non-ventilation area.

A loose pack refers to items being packed with space in between, while a tight pack involves packing items closely together with minimal space left. A loose pack may result in items shifting during transport, while a tight pack can ensure items remain secure and protected.
Down below the deck was very tight and there was no space to move, AT ALL. So slaves would soil themselves.
loose, or open "that jar isn't tight enough, its loose." or "he had a tight grip, but her hand had a loose grip."
