What are the causes of lawlessness?

The one and only cause of lawlessness is human nature. Human beings have many traits that cause them to behave in a way that is harmful to society and those around them. Some of these are called the 'seven deadly sins' (envy, gluttony, greed, lust, pride, sloth, wrath), but there are many other ways to express human's bad traits. Everyone has their own opinion which are the worst; and there are as many reasons (excuses) that will be given for a person's bad behavior. Bad traits are universal among all humans, from the earliest human records and in every part of the world. If humans did not have bad traits, there would never had been a reason to make laws in the first place.
