If you want to compete in todays market you need to go with about 350 square feet which would be around 20x17, 19x18, 20x18, 20x19, etc. Anything over 20x20 is a luxury and should only be put in houses with over 3,500 sq ft of total living space. Just remember that if you put a master bedroom in your home between 200 and 250 sq ft you need to have a master bathroom that wont put the master bedroom to shame. Same goes for the master bedroom around 350 sq ft. If your master bath is too small it will not be worth the large bedroom it belongs to. Make sure the master bathroom is large with enough space for 4 or more people to fit comfortably in. (Not that you will have that many people in your bathroom, just to give you an idea of how large you want it to be.) Most Master Bathrooms need to be as large as a small bedroom if connected to a large master bedroom. 200 to 250 sq ft master should have a bath about 10x10 minimum 350 sq ft master should have a bath about 11x14 minimum Anything larger than 400 sq ft should have a master bath larger than 14x16 If you dont want your bathroom to be that large, stick with the smaller master suite.
