The slavery impact on the development of colonial America was great, slaves were brought to the colonized america to work. Some slaves were in an area that abolished slavery so they were kind of like citizens in north but in the south they were treated like a working horse. Also slaves helped and maintained the cotton and tobacco fields, helping colonies create income.
The entire economic system of the south was based on slave labor. Large numbers of laborers were needed to grow the crops. Northern industry did not lend itself to this kind of workforce. By the mid nineteenth century, early slaves and indentured servants in the north had gained freedom. Indentures were agreements of a sort of slavery for a limited time during which the laborer worked off his or her indenture. Many household slaves were liberated when the owners either died or retired.

What kind of question is this? . . . . Well, since you appear to not know the United States is located in North America.
1. The 1850 Compromise had broken down, and new solutions were being sought for the issue of slavery in the new states. 2. Stephen Douglas suggested that the issue should be put to the vote in each new state created. He called this 'Popular Sovereignty', and it was enshrined in the Kansas-Nebraska Act. 3. The Kansas territory was thinly-populated, and the vote was likely to be close. Strong believers from both sides moved in and bought cheap properties in order to qualify for the vote, and hopefully influence the result in their own favour. Indigenous Kansans called these new arrivals 'the squatters'. 4. There were also bully-boys from both sides who invaded the territory in order to intimidate voters and disrupt the polls. One of these was John Brown, who helped to cause the kind of bloodshed that gave rise to the name 'Bleeding Kansas'. 5. In due course, it was clear that Kansas had voted to be free soil. But 'Popular Sovereignty' had not worked well and was never tried again. 'Bleeding Kansas' was a grim reminder that the slavery issue would never be resolved through lawful debate.
The South looked at slavery as an economic issue. The North viewed slavery as a moral issue. In the North, slavery was proving to be unprofitable in the North and was dying out by the end of the American Revolution, but in the South white Southerners were increasingly more defensive of slavery.
