Sometimes doing the right thing isn't doing the right thing?

What may seem to not be the right thing at the time ends up being right down the road as it reflected on your future path.

edit: actually my interpretation of this quote is that sometimes in order help a person is to give them a taste of reality, such as if a person was arrogant and believed nothing bad could happen to them, to help this person you may have to make something bad happen to them, or if a person got into a fight with his/her husband/wife and all fault lie with said person, if they do not understand that what they did was wrong you may have to show them and this may mean being a prick
