Ultimately, the final choice to tell them is up to you. If you fear for your safety or well being, it is advisable to nottell them until there comes a better time. There is nothing worse than risking your safety and relationship with your parents at an early age. If you are dependent on them for financial support you may also consider not telling them until you can provide for yourself.
