I think its cool if you between 13-16. But beyond that, i think a more sophisticated approach is more acceptable.The way I see it is a 50/50 chance. Also you'll never know if you dont ask.Just use the "hey you got anything planned (for whichever day you choose) and say, "if you'd like to hang?"If she's busy jus say, "well maybe you can let me know when its a good time for you?"

Any girl wouldn't be impressed if you asked them out on a text that would show that you don't care much about them, same with Facebook ,email,through another friend. It also shows a sigh of weakness, that you don't have the guts to ask them out face to face. The best way to ask a girl out is face to face alone... If she is always with someone you can steal her from her friends by saying can I talk to you for a sec ALONE? (Say that really clear) Or if you cant by phone is acceptable but its best face to face...good luck:)
