Chances are, he'll do it again. If you're willing to accept his apologies and forgive him, you will probably find yourself in the same position.
Apparently he isn't over his ex-wife. Divorce is a very complicated thing and it can leave people sore for months or even years afterward. So even though he may be technically single, he seems to be hung-up on his ex. You should probably spare yourself the heartache and move on. This is best for both of you, because it gives you the opportunity to take care of yourself, but also gives him the opportunity to figure out his feelings for his ex that led him to pursue her. Ultimately, however, only you can know if he should be forgiven.
