- There is a law in the United States which says web sites can not collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without parent permission. That is why Facebook does not allow children under the age of 13, because they ask for personal information to allow members to register. So, no, 12 years olds should not have a Facebook for safety reasons. Even 13 and 14 year olds give out too much personal information without realizing they have.

-Yeah. It doesn't matter really. Your supposed to get face book aged 13+ but that doesn't stop most people getting it at any age. You'll have to lie about your age by one year, so put 1996 instead of 1997. But, it shouldn't matter as long as you strictly don't add anyone you don't know or don't trust.

If a parent has face book, it may seem strange but add them. They can keep an eye on your account, and if anyone is mean or rude they can block them for you or something.

- No, wait until you are 13.

-Yes, a 12 year old should be able to get a face book. 12 should be the youngest, even though there are some 4th graders with face books!

-Ask a parent if you can get one. Facebook can sometimes be unsafe and can have adult content on it. But if you REALLY want one, 12 is close enough. Facebook just doesn't want 9 year olds who are trying to be cool having a facebook. If you do have one, ONLY add people you know, don't join an inappropriate facebook group, and don't say anything bad. Other than that, I think It's fine to have a facebook at that age. Just be safe.

-A lot of people have a facebook, for a 12 year old. They want to be involved with the new world, and show pictures there friends would never see if they did not have a facebook. They want to show off and show pictures of their family to show how fun they can be! And if parents have a facebook they can look at the profile.

- Most kids at 12 should have a Facebook. The reason is because some 12 year olds are more responsible than others. Like for instance, if you have a 12 year old that gets straight A's and another 12 year old that has straight D's, unless you are clueless you can clearly see which 12 year old is better off having a Facebook. Maybe you can limit their friends every month. But I think that 12 year olds should have a Facebook. There is also a Facebook for kids on Google!
