The purple XXXX with a white back round indicate the battery has not been wet. When wet the entire area will become red or purple and the XXXX will no longer be visible.
No. it might damage your phone.
Turn off your phone, take off the back and take out the battery. look in the area where the battery sits for a small square sticker. if its white there is no water damage, if the sticker is pink or red the phone has suffered water damage.
red dot shows up where the battery goes.
But the water damage sticker you took off of it back on the battery and get a new one lol
If your Samsung Gravity did not come with a cover and battery you should send it back to the company you purchased it from. Check the packaging thoroughly because sometimes the phone is shipped disassembled to prevent damage.
I occasionally work with a friend of mine who owns two different mobile phone service repair centers, one being metroPCS and one being t-mobile and in both locations the only thing that we check for water damage is the red dot sticker. Some of these stickers are simply behind the battery other models have them inside of the phone. However there has been instances where I have opened a phone to check the conditions of the water damage sticker only to find it missing and see droplets of water and spots of corrosion inside. Obviously this is water damage and the owner had tried to outsmart the technician (being me). Although there was no sticker for me to verify water damage the owner apparently didn't think that I would notice the water droplets and corrosion.
The following tips will help you troubleshoot your Samsung Gravity battery issues. Fully charge your battery to ensure that all your handset features work. Turn your handset off, remove the battery and check the back of the battery for a colored dot. A battery with a colored dot has sustained water damage and must be replaced. Dirty connectors can interfere with the electrical current. Clean the metal connectors with a cloth and reinstall the battery. Wait a few minutes before reinserting the battery. This will enable your handset to perform a hard reset and may correct hardware or electrical issues.
