Well it's obvious this guy likes you. If you two are stiff, try to loss-en the tension. Crack some jokes, or talk about things you know he likes. If he's into football, then talk about football. Then after a while, when you two are slowly regaining friendship (If he still likes you he'll at least want to be friends), then say you made a mistake and said what you said because you didn't think he liked you, and ask for a second chance.
