YES. Two meals per day (breakfast and lunch) IS healthy, as you fuel up (at breakfast) for the activity during the morning, then fuel up again (at lunch) for the activity during the afternoon. At night while sleeping, there is no activity, and therefore no reason to fuel up. It would be deposited (stored) as fat. If a meal is taken in the evening, fruit is best, as it digests faster, and will not result in weight gain.
The stomach needs at least 5 hours between meals to digest the food. In the case of meat - much longer! Breakfast literally means "Break the Fast" (of sleeping with no food in the stomach) The following trial was done on students: All the groups were given the same 3 meals (b/fast, lunch and dinner). The control group was given 3 meals per day, with nothing but water between. One group was given the usual cakes and donuts during morning and afternoon tea; another group was given chocolate bars and candy, etc. In the evening, it was found that EVERYONE who had eaten between meals, still had decaying leftovers of their breakfast and lunch in their stomachs. The only ones who had no breakfast OR lunch left in their stomachs, was the control group who had only water between meals. Therefore people who graze throughout the day, do their bodies great harm, as the stomach gets no time to rest between meals, and is not able to digest anything properly, causing indigestion and faintness - misconstrued as hunger. People also often mistake thirst for hunger. Drinking 8 glasses of water per day, washes the system, aids the kidneys, lubricates the spine (too little water can be a cause of lower Back pain), clears the brain, etc. The benefits are enormous - and it aids in weight control. Western societies are obsessed with food and eating. Hence the rates of Heart disease, Diabetes and cancer. Populations with lower calory intake, hence lower average weight, do not have the classic Western killer diseases.
