I myself wondered the same thing and did some research out of curiosity.
Here's the research I found; people that did buy the product for $47 believe it was worth it, but don't mention actually losing weight or anything.
People that didn't buy it argue that it doesn't really give you any 'new' information you didn't already know. It's merely just a online schedule to track your weight and all.

It's not possible to "gold trim" your own armour, nor can another player do it..if they say they can it's a scam. however you can get gold trimmed armour from the Grand Exchange or from a treasure trail.
