I've been trying to find out the same thing. The best info I have found is that it is a Winchester 1400 manufactured from 1964-1968.

BRANDY - Your shotgun was probably manufactured between 1886 and 1916. The SxS has been around a long time. With the info given your gun may have been built in 1750 or it may be a new import from 2008. They have never stopped makeing this type of gun.
Since it has a serial number, it was made after 1968. They were made at least through the 1990's, but I know of no source of serial number dating info for recent H&R guns. * Harrington & Richardson manufactured the shotgun in 1974.

You may find the info you seek if you go to Brownings web site and look for the customer service dept. then look for info on firearm history I believe and there should be a way to provide the info to look up the age of your Browning.If not please provide the serial number to your Shotgun to me and I will date your shotgun for you.
