In the case of an emergency, 911 is always the number to call in the United States. If you need help but it is not an emergency, typically 911 centers have non-emergency phone numbers you can call. You could also call whoever you need directly, though police/fire do not always answer their phones.

If you need help from something other than police/fire/EMS, simply search online for a number you can call. Numbers such as 411 can be used to locate a business or a telephone number. Some areas utilize 311 and 211 as alternate numbers for contacting your government for non-emergencies.
