What is Smith and Wesson 45 16-1?

Semi Automatic Pistol in .45 ACP made by Smith and Wesson. It was a compact stainless steel version of the S & W 4506 with a 3 3⁄4" barrel on a smaller frame accepting 7 round single column magazine. It was produced from the late 1980's to jiust before the millennium (1999). It was well built and the one I shot was quite accurate, I should have bought it! The dash one (-1) at the end of the 4516 is the second engineering change; there were three changes total. Not a light weight gun, but very durable.
