Absolutely! In fact, in 2005 Ruger introduced the new and improved 580-series Mini-14 and the 581-series Mini-30. Both are the result of a Ruger program to improve these carbines via new CNC processes which result in tighter tolerances. Reviews of the new rifles are validating that they are better than ever. With somewhere around 750,000 commercial Minis produced for US consumers (and many more government and law enforcement models distributed world-wide), the handy, extremely reliable Mini-14/Mini-30 platform remains very propular for general plinking, hunting small game (up to medium-sized deer), and self-defense.
You rifle appears to have been manufactured in 1983.
The Ruger website, under Customer Service, has a downloadable owners manual for your Mini 14.

If you are referring to a Sturm & Ruger Co. Mini-14, then the answer is that most were manufactured in .223 Remington. The Ruger factory has from time to time released the Mini-14 rifle in .222 Remington in limited numbers, most likely to satisfy limited markets (some countries do not allow sales of "military" calibers.)
Well the mini 14 comes in stainless steel. That is made by Ruger. There is also a Ruger 22 cal. stainless steel rifle.
