The Model 1903A3 rifle is base upon the Mauser 98 action but they are not exactly the same.
No
7.92x57mm, better known as 8mm Mauser. Same caliber as the German military's Mausers.
About the same. The 1903 Springfield used a licensed version of the Mauser action used on the German Model 1898 Mauser.
"No, 7.92 is German military caliber for WW 2 and earlier Mauser rifles." Actually, 7.92x57 is the same thing as the 8MM Mauser, if that's what the person was asking.
I don't believe so
No they are not the same and are not interchangable. The .308 is slightly smaller than the 7.92.
These are the same as the Heym-made rifles and are the same as the Mauser 2000 or Mauser 3000. Made in the 1960's. Worth $300-$400.
The 8mm Mauser is a good black bear round. American 8mm is kind of underpowered but with handloading or European ammo its in the same class as 30-06..
Do you mean 7.63mm Mauser, or perhaps 7.65mm parabellum? There is no 7.65mm Mauser, but the 7.63 was based on the 7.65mm Borchardt. Either way, it is a bottleneck cartridge, while .32 ACP, also know as 7.65mm Browning, is straight-walled. The two cartridges are in no way interchangeable.
I just bought one for $900, but i was wondering the same thing.
More information is necessary. If the rifle has a 4-lug bolt head, it is the same as a Mossberg 810. Research the 810 for info on this rifle. It may be made on FN Mauser 98 actions, in which case it will be like any other Mauser 98 sporter. Otherwise, it will be German made by Heym and is either the same as a Mauser 2000 or Mauser 3000 action. The scope, on the other hand, is almost impossible to describe these days. It will likely have Japanese optics.
