It is wrong only if you, or your parents, think it is wrong. Close cousins date frequently and even marry. Legally, most states allow second cousins to marry.
Those who believe in The Bible believe that everyone is descended from Adam and Eve, and also from Noah and his family. For them, everyone is a distant cousin, but that does not seem to interfere in dating.
