Is it appropriate for a 44-year old man to text the 15-yr-old daughter of his best guy friend - other than a happy birthday text which is ok but beyond that seems inappropriate?

Yea, don't text a 15 year old beyond an acquaintance relationship, especially if you're friends with her father. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to date kids under like 18 if that's what you were getting at.

I think your classified as a pedofile if your way over the age of 18 and your attracted to someone who is younger than 18. Take it from a teenage girl she might get a little afraid if you start txting her to much and if she doesn't feel the same way as you then she might tell her father and it could destroy your friendship, best way to deal with things would be to delete her number then you'll never be tempted.

Also if you don't think of her in a sexual way and you just like txting her or something it's still kinda inappropriate just delete her number in general
