There are many thousands nutrients in this planets plants, animals, soils and even 'oxygen itself is a great healer' and more being found every year. Example; Carotene's, over 700 and counting. Recently two new ones have come to the attention of researchers that have a very positive effect on health. Over six thousands of years recorded history man has found hundreds of sources herbal nutrients that have that great deal to do with our health. To condemn without investigation is the blind leading the blind. The FDA, AMA, and the Pharmaceutical complex would just love for us to blindly follow them. Our immune system is our most our most powerful allie feed it, nurture it and be of good health.

No. Supposedly it is good for the immune-system (but there is no conclusive proof of this - it's practically impossible to 'boost your immune system' unless you had an underlying vitamin deficiency that had just been corrected). But echinacea has no impact on weight gain or weight loss.
