your Winchester model 1894 was made in 1911.
If you are not familar with the gun, do NOT attempt to load it... especially with modern factory loaded shotshells! The Model 1911 was Winchester's poorest (worst) designed firearm throughout their entire long history. Winchester ceased manufacturing them after just 14-years (1911 - 1925) due to losing money on them. They constantly broke down, and customers returned them to the factory in huge numbers for repair. Winchester attempted nearly eighty (80) different design changes before giving up on it. Today, if you find one that is still operational, it very shortly will not be if you attempt to shoot it.
