No. They are completely different cartridges.
The AK-47 is a Soviet/Russian "assault rifle" originally designed for the 7.62x39mm (Soviet M43) cartridge. The actual diameter of the bullet is .310-.312". The M43 has similar ballistics to a US 30-30 Win.
On the other hand, 308 Winchester is the civilian version of the US Military 7.62x51mm NATO, which uses a .308" diameter bullet. Both versions use a heavier bullet, faster velocity and higher pressure.
Subsequent versions of the AK-47 have been designed for many other cartridges, including .410, 20 & 12 gauge shotgun rounds. However, because of higher pressure and the longer length of the 308 round (51mm vs. 39mm), it would be extremely difficult and impractical to attempt to re-chamber a AK-47 rifle to 308 Win.
From what i no about ak47's, no. You can get an ak that will shot a .223 round though. <><><><><><><> The AK47 is caliber 7.62x39. The .308 is a much longer (about a half inch longer), more powerful cartridge, with a heavier bullet, and is too long to cycle through the AK action.
No.
.308
Both fire the same diameter projectile.
Only 7.62x51. No other 7.62 round is compatible.
No. The 7.62x54R round is a rimmed cartridge, first developed in 1891 for use with the Mosin Nagant rifle. The .308 Winchester is derived from the .300 Savage, and has dimensions similar to - but not identical to - the 7.62x51 NATO cartridge, which is also derived from the .300 Savage.Additionally, the 7.62x54R actually has a bullet diameter of 7.92mm, vs. the 7.8mm (.308 inches) of the .308 Winchester and 7.62x51.Another stark difference between the two is that the .308 is not a rimmed cartridge, instead using a cannlure.
It is 75 308 000.
no ,7.62 has more impact in the shot you can shoot a .308 in a 7.62 ,but not 7.62 in a .308
30-06 because it's a bigger round than the .308 although it might travel slow it has greater impact on the target
When speaking of ammunition it is imperative to be precise with your numbers. The .308 Winchester is interchangable with the 7.62 NATO military round
No, it cannot.
