Generally, no.

The size is the same, but the mass of the projectile is not. And a .22 rifle bullet is propelled by gunpowder, with a much higher muzzle velocity than an air-powered pellet.

Is a 22 firearm or a pellet gun better?

For us to answer, you would have to define "better". I can target shoot at 50-100 meters with a .22 target rifle, and I can't do that with a pellet gun. But I can target shoot in my basement during bad weather with a pellet gun- and I can't do that with my .22s.

What is the Winchester model 427 single shot .22 cal. rifle?

The difference of a 22 rifle and a BB gun?

A 22 caliber rifle is a firearm and a BB gun is an air gun (Not a firearm) Now if you are asking about a .22 caliber air gun then the difference is in the size of the projectile. A BB is a hard round .175 caliber ball. The .22 caliber is a larger size pellet.

Are air rifles the same as pellet guns?

Not necessarily, but similar. An air rifle can be a BB gun, or it can be a pellet gun. Pellet guns are rifled, have more power, greater accuracy. .

Will a pellet gun kill a you?

Yes it is possible. An air soft gun will not kill you but a pellet rifle is capable if killing a person. Pellet rifles come in several calibers. .177, .20, .22, .25, 9mm, 45 cal and 50 cal. The last 3 calibers are fired from a PCP pellet rifle. This rifle (PCP) uses a scuba tank to charge the rifle with 3000 psi of air. All of these pellets are capable of injury or death.

Can a hawthorn rifle 22 cal pellet gun convert to fire 25 cal rounds?

It was not designed for 25 cal ammunition.

What is the heaviest pellet for a pellet gun?

It all depends on the bore size, and if you really mean GUN as in "gun or rifle." The larges Pellet bore is 50 caliber and that would be a Air Venturi .50 Cal, 275 Grains, Solid Core, Soft Lead, Round Nose pellet. If it's just a pistol it would be a .22 caliber pellet and that would most likely be a Predator Big Boy Senior .22 cal, 28.5 Grains, Domed. Remember air gun/rifle pellets come in all sizes. .177, .20, .22, .25, .9mm, 357mm, .45cal and 50 Cal.

Is a rifle the most powerfullest gun ever?

First, it is rifle, not riffle. Second, no, or we would shoot tanks with a rifle. Cannon are more powerful. Finally, depends on the rifle. I have a .22 rifle and a .44 magnum pistol. The pistol is far more powerful than the rifle. I also have a .22 pistol, and a 30-06 rifle. The rifle is far more powerful than the pistol (in THAT example).

What will a pellet gun do to a raccoon?

It depends on the size of the raccoon, the pellet and the power of the rifle. If you intend to kill the raccoon, then I would suggest hunting pellets ( called hollow point pellets ) and using a .22 caliber pellet rifle. Do not use a BB gun. Hollow point pellets deform when they hit a target and have maximum knockdown power. A head shot is the most humane shot.

What kind of bb gun can you use in ohio to hunt with?

BB Guns are not designed for hunt. For hunting you will need a pellet rifle. preferably a .22 caliber pellet rifle. BB guns are designed for just plinking around and are not very accurate beyond 20 feet.

Could a 22 caliber pellet gun kill a deer?

it may kill a deer if you were lucky. But it is not the best choice for hunting deer. Remember a .22 pellet is the same size slug as a regular .22 cal bullet and I would not hunt deer with a .22 cal rifle. It's just a poor choice.

What is a stronger pellet gun the you can buy at Walmart that is stronger then the crosman phantom?

You do mean pellet rifle, not pellet gun. The Phantom is a rifle. First of all not all Wallmarts carry the same air rifles in every store let alone every state. But I can help you with this information. The Phantom is a .177 caliber rifle that is rated at 1000 Feet Per Second (FPS) I suggest looking for a rifle that has a higher FPS ie: 1200 FPS or a .22 caliber rifle that shoots close to 1000 FPS. A .22 at 800 FPS will be a bit slower but it is a bigger pellet and will have more knock-down power than a .177 pellet at 1000 FPS. Don't confuse Speed with Power. Think of it this way. If I shot a 1/4 piece of plywood with a .177 pellet, I would make a very nice dent in it. If I shot the same piece of wood with a .22 caliber Pellet at 900 fps I would most likely make a hole most of the way through it. Why Because the .22 is a much heaver pellet.
