The Christmas Season is the second of the six seasons of the church calendar, or liturgical calendar. It begins on Christmas Day, December 25, and it comes between the Season of Advent, which begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas, and the Season of Epiphany, which begins on Epiphany, January 6. December 25 through January 5 are "the twelve days of Christmas."
The secular (non-religious) Christmas Season in the United States is generally accepted to begin on Thanksgiving Day, the Thursday that falls after November 21 and before November 29, and end on New Year's Day, January 1. That is also referred to as The Christmas Shopping Season, The Holiday Season, or just The Holidays.
