For years Beeman was considered to be an excellent brand of air rifles. But due to economics their quality has fallen off. You will find more plastic creeping into the assembly, like triggers and trigger guards. Many users have opted to replace the trigger assembly with aftermarket units. Let me give you an example of what they have been doing. The highly prized Beeman P3 pistol sells for $220 but the exact copy Beeman P17 sells for $46. There are several other copies like the "Marksman 2004", another copy of the model P3. All of these are owned by Beeman. Beeman owns Marksman and in my opinion Marksman, once a very good air gun, is now a throwaway not made to last. I don't understand Beemans marketing strategy, Why make knockoff your own gun?
So "Yes" Beeman's are Okay just not s good as they once were. My preferenc is the Gamo or Benjamin line of air guns & rifles.
If you want to see a wide selection of air guns / rifles then see the link below and read the Owners reviews.
Beeman makes several good air rifles & guns. I know of 3 different "Sportsman SS" series that shoot .177 pellets And the RS1 Sportsman that comes with 2 barrels .177 & 22. But I know of no Beeman Air Gun called Sportsman. Just the Sportsman Rifle. If you are talking about the RS1, then yes I would have to say it is a good rifle for the price.
K-Mart and I have seen them at other sporting-good stores
The major air rifle manufacturers are Gamo, Crosman, Benjamin, UTG, Daisy, RWS, Beeman, Mendoza, King Arms, Hornady, Beeman, Air Arms, Air Venturi, etcetera.
it all depends on the condition of the rifle.
Currently it's the Beeman RX-2 at 1125 FPS in a .177 pellet
This rifle was made in Germany from 1986 to 1995. In Very good condition it would be worth between $260 to $325
Beeman usually has the Model number on the side of the barrel by the loading port or on the barrel by the hinge on break barrel rifles.
If you are looking for a good, quality, accurate, air rifle, look at the Beeman R7. It will last you a life time. You will enjoy shooting it. I would call it a Target only gun. You will need more power for hunting.
It would help tremendously if you told me who made the rifle. There are over 1000 different models of air rifles. Was it made by Gamo, Crosman, Daisy, Beeman, Diana, Airforce or another brand? Just the model number alone does not give me enough information to answer you.
I can not find any information about a daisy model R6. In fact as far as I know Daisy dose not use this type of numbering system for any of their air guns or rifles. However Beeman makes a model R6 .22 Cal Air Rifle. Could this really be a Beeman and not a Daisy? If it is, then state the condition of the rifle as Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent so I can give you an estimate of value.
I suggest you contact Beeman directly and ask your question: they make several different models. Beeman Co 10652 Bloomfield Ave Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670 Ph: 562-968-5891
Usually it printed on the left side of the breech or barrel.
