Is Acer a good brand of laptop computer?

In general, it seems that they are. Acer was initially the manufacturer for Texas Instruments before they became a separate company. In general, they seem competetively priced and well-built. Their tech support also seems very good with reasonable wait times and very often an American-sounding agent on the other end who is usually pretty helpful.

I don't believe Acer laptops have good ratings. HP laptops have much higher ratings. Acer laptops usually run slower and break down more often than other brands. My personal suggestion would be HP laptops.
