No- two different cartridges. They are for different guns and do not interchange. The 9x19 is also the 9mm Parabellum or 9mm Luger- the 9x18 is the 9mm Makarov.

Is a 380 calibur bullet the same as a 9mm bullet?

The .380 ACP is a type of 9mm... 9x17, and is sometime referred to as the 9mm Short or 9mm Kurz. It is NOT the same as the 9mm Luger/Parabellum (9x19), and it is NOT compatible with any other type of 9mm cartridge (such as the 9x19 Luger/Parabellum, 9x18 Makarov, 9x21, 9x23, 9x25, etc.).

Difference between 9x18 caliber and 9x19 caliber?

1mm of case length. Also, the 9x19 operates at a higher pressure and therefore usually (especially in sidearms) a locked-breech design. The 9x19mm is the 9mm Luger or 9mm Parabellum. The 9x18mm is the 9mm Makarov.

Can you use any 9mm ammo in any 9mm gun?

No. Most 9mm pistols are fitted for 9x19 rounds, but a few use 9x21mm. or 9x17, or 9x18, or 9x20

What is us equivalent of 9 x 18 makarov?

There is no exact match to the 9x18 MAK round, but if you are handy with reloading equipment, it is possible to shave down a 9x19 casing to function properly.

Can you shoot all types of 9mm ammo out of the same gun?

No. Not all 9mm cartridges are the same. 9x19 (a.k.a., 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum), for example, is different, hence, not compatible with other 9mm cartridges, such as the 9x17 (a.k.a., .380 ACP), 9x18 Makarov, 9x21, 9x23 Mauser, etc.

Can you use 9X18 ammo in any 9mm handgun?

NO- outside of case dimensions, the 9x18 uses a .366 bullet designed for the Makarov. The standard international cartridge, 9mm Luger (9x19) uses a .355 bullet. The Luger will not fit in the Makarov, and if you try to fire the Makarov in a standard 9mm gun, you may just damage the gun or blow out the barrel

What is a 9 mm bullet?

A bullet with a diameter of approximately 9mm. Not all 9mm projectiles are exactly 9mm in diameter - the 9x19 Parabellum/Luger has a diameter of 9mm, while the 9x18 Makarov has a diameter of 9.27mm, the 9x23 Steyr has a diameter of 9.03mm, etc.

What ammo do you shoot in a 9 caliber pistol?

Assuming you mean 9mm, and not calibre, you have a number of options. There's the 9x19 Parabellum/Luger, the 9x17 (more commonly known as the .380 ACP in the US), the 9x18 Makarov, the 9x21, the 9x23 Steyr, 9x23 Winchester, 9x25 Mauser 'Export', 9x25 Dillon... quite a variety to choose from. Most likely, you'd be referring to a 9x19 firearm (also known as 9mm Luger or Parabellum).

Can you fire a 380 in a 9mm handgun?

Depends. .380 ACP is used to refer to the 9x17 cartridge. It is not interchangeable for use in 9x18 (9mm Makarov), 9x19 (9mm Parabellum/Luger), or any other firearm designed for any cartridge other than the .380 ACP/9x17 cartridge.

Can you use 9mm shells for 9mmx19?

Not sure of the question. Are you talking about for reloading purposes? I wouldn't recommend stretching out shorter 9mm casings (such as 9x17/.380 ACP). You can use 9x19 casings.. the 9x19 is also known as the 9mm Luger or 9mm Parabellum. If you're talking firing another type of cartridge in a 9x19/9mm Luger/9mm Parabellum pistol, the answer is a big, resounding, no. Cartridges such as the 9x17 (a.k.a., 9mm Kurz, 9mm Short, .380 ACP) will not provide the proper headspacing, which could result in a catastrophic failure of your firearm - with the potential of injury or death to the firer - when fired. The 9x18 Makarov cartridge, likewise, is in no way compatible with a 9x19/9mm Luger/9mm Parabellum pistol.

Are you able to use 9mm luger 9mm parabellum and 9x19 ammo in the same type of firearm?

Thje proper name of the cartridge is 9mm Parabellum, It is also called 9mm Luger, and 9x19 (the size in millimeters) They are all the same cartridge, just called by different names.

What is the difference between a 9 mm and a 9 mm Markov round?

There are about a dozen cartridges that have 9mm as part of their name. If you mean the 9mm Parabellum (sometimes called 9mm Luger) it is longer than the Makarov, not as fat, and has more power. The 9mm Makarov is actually 9.27 mm.
