Yes, they start off at 6 weeks but it does take a long time for them to grow. You must train them first and take them to diffrent dens to spend the summer. you must feed your pups and keep them safe from grizzles..
You take the pups, feed them , train them, protect them and then take them, forever battling with coyotes, bears, and a hawk to get them to your summer hunting grounds.
You raze your pups, take them to the other sided of Slough Creek then wait for Wolf Quest 3 to come out. Sucks doesn't it...
When you're away from your den your mate will take your place with watching the pups. When you're on the final quest (journey to the rendezvous site) you can abandon your pups at any time.

in wolf quest 1 the quest is to find a mate, but afther you do so theres not much to do but hunt or play multi player. in wolf quest 2 wich has not come out yet you have to make a pack and protect it train your pups hunt and keep your pack from getting killed umm that's it Quest 1 : Find a mate Quest 2 Slough Creek: Train your pups, feed your pups, take them on a journey, and make sure they are not killed. On Nintendogs the pups can't grow up. They even can't GET any puppy's. You can buy new dogs, but they will be forever a pup.
