A rifle's crown pretty much refers to end of the barrel. More specifically, its the edge between the end of the bore and the face of the barrel. If this gets nicked or dinged up, it can have a very detrimental effect on the accuracy of the rifle.
50-125
My .22 caliber mercury rifle has a stamp on the barrel of a "crown" . which is usually a sign it was made in the UK somewhere, my 308 has the same stamp of the crown on it and was bade in Birmingham England
Typically the crown of a gun is on the muzzle end of a rifle. It is the recessed area at the very end of the barrel. Poor crown cutting can be the cause of many accuracy problems.
The muzzle 9front end) is rounded over- that is the crown of the muzzle. Some target rifles have flat muzzles.
A tool that cuts a crown at the muzzle end of the barrel
I do not personally, but yes, there is a single shot rifle that can have the rifle barrel replaced with a shotgun barrel.
The "crown" of any firearm is the front end of the barrel- the muzzle. It refers to a rounded shape of the end of the barrel.
U TELL ME. COME ON, THERE IS SOME SPACE, U SEE? ..............................
Shortening a rifle barrel will reduce velocity (in most cases) but when done correctly does not reduce accuracy. The cut must be square with the bore, and the crown (end of the barrel) will need to be machined after the cut. The cut should normally be made on a lathe, and not with a hacksaw. BTW, 30 inches is a VERY long barrel for anything but a muzzle loading rifle!
That term refers to the outline shape of the outside of a rifle barrel.
Need to know who made it, barrel length, barrel profile, caliber, type of sights, finish. Where did you get your definition of what "good" means in relation to firearms?
