DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIRE BUCKSHOT OUT OF A THREADED BARREL WITHOUT A CHOKE TUBE INSTALLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Danger, Danger, Danger
no slugs should on be shot thru a improved cylinder shotgun. if you shoot thru any other choke it can cause the barrel to split
yes for a shotgun you need a rifle barrel DO NOT shoot slugs if you have a poly-choke!
Depends on the load and what the maker of the choke/shotgun say.
Most ARE shot from full choke- or even Extra Full Choke.
yes.
A rifled slug- yes.
You can shoot slugs in a double. Slugs are best shot through a cylinder bore or improved cylinder choke. The tighter the choke, the more they will be disrupted. There is risk of excessive wear and damage through a tight choke--tighter than Modified Choke.
YES as a gun dealer for over 8 years I have been ask this question many times and the improved choke barrel is ok for slugs but never in a modified choke or full choke barrel as the slug in the latter 2 barrels will open the choke over time
The short answer is "it depends". Need more information.
Have it checked over by a gunsmith first.
because the choke is actually slightly smaller in diameter than the barre, for tightening the grouping of shot shells. A slug will cause major problems.
You will need to change barrel's, a accu choke is not on a slug barrel.
