You're Right. The work "nick" DOES in fact mean devil according to Webester's Dictionary. (Which is surely a standard reference tool used by scholars worldwide).
What is even crazier than that is the word "Santa" is an anagram for "Satan".
But if you look at it SCRIPTURALLY what does Christmas Holiday (which originated in Paganism) have to do with the birth of the Messiah in the first place? . . . . NOTHING. Never Authorized or even celebrated at all.

Also germanic legends say that santa and saint nick are one in the same, both being the devil or demon that would take naughty children up the chimney and away for ever. for doing one of the following; either peaking when their presents were being delivered or for being naughty saint nick isn't a bringer of gifts but rather a evil satanic being that would instill fear in the hearts and minds of children to achieve obedience and such.
